As one consequence, scientists who may have begun their careers in relative backwaters of research now find themselves thrown into the limelight. Scientific points, and occasional errors, have become the subject of emotive debate and strong media interest. Frequently this has generated more heat than light, with polarised and ill-informed debates across the blogosphere - and indeed at times in the mainstream media.&amp;amp;nbsp; My aim in developing these web pages is to set out what I believe to be key aspects of the scientific evidence on climate change. In a field so broad the material is necessarily selective, but I hope it presents in a clear and scientific manner an overview of some of the most important areas of study.&amp;amp;nbsp; The evidence is compelling that climate change is happening, that human activities are the major driver for this and that the future risks are substantial. This evidence includes wide-ranging, long term and robust observations of changes that are taking place, and projections of possible future changes that are based on basic physical laws. There are also many areas where major uncertainties remain and where more research and long term, reliable observations are required. The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has been given the prestigious 2010  Vaisala Award for Weather Observing and Instrumentation by the Royal  Meteorological Society (RMetS) for the Community Weather Information  Network (Co-WIN).In its citation for the award, the RMetS highlighted Co-WIN&#039;s success in  enabling people of all ages, in particular schoolchildren, to  appreciate the elements through hands-on activities in running weather  stations. The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has been given the prestigious 2010  Vaisala Award for Weather Observing and Instrumentation by the Royal  Meteorological Society (RMetS) for the Community Weather Information  Network (Co-WIN).In its citation for the award, the RMetS highlighted Co-WIN&#039;s success in  enabling people of all ages, in particular schoolchildren, to  appreciate the elements through hands-on activities in running weather  stations. Apart from weather-data sharing, Co-WIN also provides a  platform for the exchange of observational experiences and for the  organisation of related educational activities. The RMetS also  recognised Co-WIN&#039;s achievement in demonstrating how groups can work  together to deliver high-quality community education on weather and  climate for the benefit of all.&lt;br /&gt;

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has been given the prestigious 2010  Vaisala Award for Weather Observing and Instrumentation by the Royal  Meteorological Society (RMetS) for the Community Weather Information  Network (Co-WIN).In its citation for the award, the RMetS highlighted Co-WIN&#039;s success in  enabling people of all ages, in particular schoolchildren, to  appreciate the elements through hands-on activities in running weather  stations. Apart from weather-data sharing, Co-WIN also provides a  platform for the exchange of observational experiences and for the  organisation of related educational activities. The RMetS also  recognised Co-WIN&#039;s achievement in demonstrating how groups can work  together to deliver high-quality community education on weather and  climate for the benefit of all.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;近年氣候變化及全球變暖的議題越來越受到廣泛關注。二氧化碳(CO2)是大氣中最重要的人類排放的溫室氣體，全球多處地區都有進行二氧化碳 的測量，測量結果均顯示其濃度有不斷及急速上升的趨勢[1]。二氧化碳測量為了解氣候變化的成因及未來趨勢提供不可或缺的數據。此外，香港是一個國際大都 會，鄰近地區人口稠密、運輸頻繁及工商業發達，是二氧化碳排放的重要源頭。因此，為符合世界氣象組織有關指引，在香港進行有關二氧化碳的測量，有助了解其 濃度在本地的變化，並可為全球資料庫提供有用的參考資料。&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;香港天文台自2009年開始在京士柏氣象站設置儀器，測量市區户外二氧化碳濃度的變化。同年下半年，亦派員到日本考察，包括訪問東北部綾里 (Ryori) 日本氣象廳大氣環境觀測所，並在該處進行了實地的測量比對。本文介紹在日本的比對數據及香港户外二氧化碳濃度的測量結果，並且分析二氧化碳濃度與各種氣象 參數的關係。此外，本文亦討論在測量時遇到的問題及未來發展的一些構想。&lt;br /&gt;
